Hampi Culture Trips  – Site of the once-magnificent capital of the Vijayanagara Empire – the ruins are now a UNESCO World Heritage site amidst a rocky background and surrounded by lush green paddy fields. Thousands of travelers travel to Hampi and yet it remains curiously unexplored. 500 years ago, this was one of the largest cities on the planet and yet all that now remains are forgotten ruins in a small town inhabited by a handful of locals. For the curious traveler there are plenty of things to do, right from history, mythology to a whole lot of rock climbing, amidst company of the surreal landscape of Hampi that has stood the test of time. A great destination for a quick weekend getaway.
